The State of Indiana requires all football coaches, prior to coaching football to individuals who are less than twenty (20) years of age and are in grades 1 to 12, to complete a certified and approved coaching education course that contains player safety content, including content on proper technique, no less than once during a two (2) year period (Indiana Code 20-34-7-6). Tackling certification through Atavus is an option for IHSAA member-school coaches to meet the proper technique requirement.
