NEW ORLEANS, LA (October 1, 2025) – The Tulane University Green Wave football program today announced a significant investment in player safety and performance, securing a mid-season partnership with Atavus Football, the national leader in tackling technique and performance analytics. Tulane will immediately implement Atavus’ new Tackle Consulting Service, to optimize defensive performance and reduce injury risk and penalties for the remainder of the season.
The move to acquire the service mid-season underscores the program’s commitment to elite defensive play. Atavus will provide a data-driven approach, utilizing game film analysis to grade every single tackle attempt and providing actionable coaching insights down to the individual player. “We identified an opportunity to enhance our approach on teaching tackling and Atavus takes all the guesswork
out of the equation.”, said Tulane Defensive Coordinator/Safeties Coach Greg Gasparato. “Their consulting service allows us to work hand-in-hand with some of the most well-respected tackling experts in the industry. Through a joint effort between Atavus and our coaching staff, we will further prioritize player safety and inefficient tackling drills, techniques and fundamentals that will give us the best opportunity to succeed on gameday.
The Atavus platform will allow the Green Wave coaching staff to transition from subjective observation to databased coaching, enabling them to pinpoint the exact moment tackling technique breaks down for each player.
